St. Clair Bourne, the veteran documentary filmmaker who passed away this past December 15, will be honored at several upcoming events. We encourage you to join us.

On Saturday, February 9th, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30, the Black Steering Committee of the Directors Guild will co-host with BAD Filmmakers-West a memorial to Bourne. Clips of the filmmaker’s works will be presented, along with speakers who worked with the luminary documentarian.  This event is free and open to the public, at the DGA, 7920 Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles.  

The Pan African Film and Arts Festival will also honor St. Clair Bourne by establishing a new award for a documentary filmmaker in his name.  The award will be announced at the Festival’s Opening Night, February 7th at the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center.  

Also, at the PAFF Night of Tribute, at 7 pm. on February 9that the Holden venue, the St. Clair Bourne Documentary Filmmaker Award will be given to award winning filmmaker Stanley Nelson. 

In addition, Bourne’s film “Paul Robeson: Here I Stand” will screen as part of the festival at the Magic Johnson Theatre on Friday, February 8 at 3:15 pm, and again on Sunday, February 10 at 8:40 pm.
